L33T Gamer OFFICIAL Rules

OFFICIAL L33T (Elite) Gamer Rules
1. Games must be played 9:00AM Saturday or later (Friday does not count) and time counts until Sunday @ 4:00PM
2. One game can count for multiple squares
3. Complete an entire row, have a volunteer verify, and get a blue ticket
4. Tabulate your total points and turn your board in at Sunday @ 4:15PM for a chance to win the grand prize
5. Grand prize goes to the person who has completed their board – multiple full boards trigger a drawing
6. Couldn’t complete the board? That’s okay, We will award placements for “runner-ups” based on points.
7. You CAN buy squares based on the level. Note: You can only buy 1 World Ranked Gamer square and you CANNOT buy the L33T Gamer square
8. When you buy a square, have the volunteer affix a sticker to your board and initial it.
9. If you organized a game but did not take a seat as a player, it still counts as a played game, because organizers are awesome!
10. Write an ‘X’ in your square when you complete it – write pertinent info in the square or use the space below (on the sheet) to track for our verification

FAQ:

Q: Will there be food?

A: Yes, there will be 3 meals served.

1. Saturday Lunch – Eastside Fishfry Chicken Tenders – sold individually.

2. Saturday Dinner – Pizza sold by the slice.

3. Sunday Lunch – Pizza sold by the slice.

All food is sold until supplies last.

Q: Can I sell games at DaveCon?

A: Yes, visit our vendor starting Saturday morning at 10AM, pay a $0.75 placement fee per game and 10% commission if the game sells.  Collect your $ and reclaim your games by Sunday at 4:30PM.

Q: How does the new, con-wide, L33T competition work in general (see Top for official rules)?

A:  Get your L33T gamer card when you arrive.  Read the rules on the back of the card but here are some pro-tips:

1. Bring at least 5 games to contribute to the game library.

2. Be prepared to track game plays – badge ID’s of who you played with and duration of the play.

3. Complete the squares in ANY order.

4. Complete a row for a blue ticket.

5. Complete as many squares as you can to be the L33T gamer but note there will be more drawings to dish out the final prizes.  (Points are awarded for incomplete boards)

6. Games played Friday do NOT count.  Friday night is a bonus night.

7. Be prepared to play a variety of games with a number of people HOWEVER you WILL be rewarded for playing longer games like TI 4, etc.

Q: How do sign-up sheets work?

A: We put these out on a rolling basis so that people who arrive throughout the day have an opportunity to sign-up in advance.  Expect sign-up sheets to be put out for games starting in the next 3-5 hours as the days goes.  There may be some exceptions where larger person games are out in advance.

Q: How do the prize drawings work?

A: I’ll try and keep this simple.  Everyone gets a single white door prize ticket.  If you Complete a ROW of the L33T gamer card, you get a blue ticket.  If you WIN a scheduled event game, you get a blue ticket.  If you play a co-op game and WIN, you all get tickets.  If you are on a team that wins, all team members get blue tickets.  If you play an RPG game and it is NOT a TPK AND you defeated the final boss, got the sword, saved the hostage, etc., you get a blue ticket (so yes, you can sacrifice your character in a blaze of glory to save the party and still get a ticket).  Blue tickets start being awarded Saturday.  If the organizer of your game doesn’t know about Blue tickets, please send them to the registration table.  You must be present, at the Con, to claim your prize, but you do have until Sunday @ 4:00PM to do so.

Q: How does Friday work?

A: Friday is primarily open gaming, with a couple “unofficial” scheduled events, intended for people who have already registered.  If you didn’t register, you’re promising to register as soon as possible Saturday. 🙂
